  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/4 cup cinnamon sugar for rolling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda, cream of tartar, cinnamon, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
  5. Fold in the diced apples.
  6. Roll the dough into balls and then roll in cinnamon sugar.
  7. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
  8. Let cool on wire racks.
