  • 1 pack vanilla wafers
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups milk
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, flour, and salt. Gradually add milk, and cook over medium heat until thickened.
  2. In a bowl, combine a small amount of the mixture with the egg yolks, then pour back into the saucepan.
  3. Stir in the vanilla and remove from heat.

  5. In a separate bowl, whip cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then spread over the top.
  6. Chill for at least 4 hours before serving.
